Timbre is an expressive tactile MIDI controller that rein troduces gesture as a primary way of shaping digital sound. It translates touch, pressure, and vibration into audio output, reconnecting physical interaction with sound. Sitting between instrument, interface, and sculp tural object, it proposes a new direction for experimental sound interaction where touch, material, and vibration are central to musical expression. In a context where music creation is often abstracted from gesture throu gh screens and fixed interfaces, Timbre seeks to resto re a direct, embodied relationship with sound. Inspired visually and conceptually by the unpredictable move ment of water and cymatics, it embraces non-repetition, where each gesture produces evolving and unique sonic outcomes.
