A reminder of how deeply we rely on electricity for light, when there is an easy sustainable option. By modernizing a “forgotten” object, this creation evokes the beauty in nostalgia . Made in collaboration with Trinidad Contreras, Loewe craft prize finalist, a contemporary porcelain jewelery artisan.
Inspired by Irish Belleek porcelain, where baskets are woven from porcelain, this oil lamp is made by dipping crocheted wool in slip porcelain and letting gravity take control.
